Our Personal Transformation

Our journey started with a radical shift in how we lived. Together, we switched to an animal-based lifestyle, and the results were life-changing—between the two of us, we lost 80 lbs. But it was more than just weight; it was a total awakening to how the modern world was affecting our health.

As we cleaned up what we put into our bodies, we started looking at what we were putting on them. We realized that the products in our bathroom vanity were actually filled with the things we cut out in our food: highly processed seed oils and toxic chemicals.

The Kilimanjaro Revelation

The turning point came when Max set out to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. During seven demanding days under relentless sunlight, he discovered there wasn't a sunscreen he truly felt comfortable relying on.

The choice seemed impossible: harsh conventional formulas or exposure to the sun itself. When he returned home, we decided enough was enough. If we wanted a gentler alternative without unnecessary synthetic ingredients for ourselves and our community, we would have to create it from the ground up.

The Tallow Revolution

We spent months researching, testing, and obsessing over ingredients. We turned to tallow, an ancestral, nutrient-dense fat that was the gold standard for skincare long before industrial seed oils took over. Because its molecular structure matches our own skin, it doesn’t just sit on the surface - it actually nourishes.

By pairing grass-fed tallow with non-nano zinc oxide, we created the "holy grail", a sunscreen that protects like a shield but feels like a luxury moisturizer.

What started as us hand-packing orders in our small apartment has grown into a community of over 200,000 people. We’ve gone from a personal mission to being voted a Yuka Top 10 Sunscreen of 2025.
